Curriculum
The Alderman Bolton curriculum
We don’t just follow the National Curriculum here at Alderman Bolton. Our approach is to go above and beyond, delivering an enhanced curriculum that will raise the aspirations of all our children.
With the support of Warrington Primary Academy Trust we have created a carefully designed and sequenced curriculum that reflects the collective values and ambitions of all trust schools and, most importantly, caters to the specific needs of Alderman Bolton Primary Academy’s children.
Each area of the curriculum is built in a way that will make sure that each child develops knowledge that is underpinned with a variety of core skills and key concepts and builds on prior learning. The aim is for children to know, understand and remember more.
The WPAT curriculum
As part of our trust-wide strategy we have structured our curriculum so that our children will know, understand and remember more.
Working closely together, the schools that make up Warrington Primary Academy Trust have painstakingly created detailed curriculum for every academic subject.
These are built in a way that will make sure that each child develops knowledge that is underpinned with a variety of core skills and key concepts, and builds on prior learning.
The approach means that children are better able to remember, apply and deepen their understanding of their learning.
Right to Withdrawal
Parents have the right to withdraw their children from non-statutory/non-science components of sex education with RSE, although these elements are not taught at Alderman Bolton Primary Academy. Parents also have the right to withdraw their children from religious education and/or collective worship.
Parents do not have the right to withdraw their children from relationships education, as high-quality evidence-based and age-appropriate teaching helps prepare pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life and can also help their spiritual, moral, social, cultural, mental and physical development.
